A reported 24.7%, or 411,206 of the nation’s science doctorate level graduates earned their degrees and certificates from these affordable online programs in 2011. In 2006, which was a short 5 years earlier, only 306,644 students graduated from these colleges and universities. Thus, the number of graduates from these affordable online colleges has increased by 34%.
