Online Divinity Schools Charging The Least

The average tuition charged by schools around the country offering online divinity programs is $12,470 yearly. The average tuition has increased by 10.6% in recent years. At these online colleges and universities the average tuition per annum in 2008 was $11,274.

Online divinity colleges and universities are sometimes called seminary colleges and universities. The tuition range for online divinity colleges is displayed in the following graph. Tuition is shown from the most to least costly colleges and universities.

At the high end, schools with online divinity programs charge students more than $21,000 in tuition annually. On the other end of the spectrum, per annum tuition in the range of $4,000 to $4,320 is charged by the cheapest colleges and universities. The least expensive accredited online divinity schools are located in California and Virginia.

In 2011, roughly 1% of divinity graduates from online colleges across the country earned credentials from these reasonably priced programs. Therefore, of the 47,808 graduates from around the US, 607 are from the least costly schools. From 2008 to 2011, the number of divinity graduates from the least costly online schools has increased by 1,863 graduates per year. However, the percentage of graduates from these schools has decreased.

Other somewhat more costly online divinity colleges charge a yearly tuition in the range of $5,016 to $6,480. Of the 11 online colleges and universities that have divinity programs in the nation, 3 have tuition in this range.

Approximately 6.2%, or 2,957 of the nation’s divinity graduates earned their degrees from these low tuition online programs in 2011.
